The suspension plays a vital role so therefore the engineers with Abt have worked on the optimization and improvement of the driving dynamics right from the start. Behind the latest development which is based on the Frequency-Selective-Damping technology, short ISC (Intelligent Suspension Control), stands an extremely innovative solution: Abt Sportsline's ISC damper automatically identifies the operating conditions, adapts to the individual manners of driving and changing situations within a split seconds.
Intelligence without vulnerable electronics: a special hydraulic system with two oil circuits identifies the shock frequency and controls the damping power by opening or closing a special valve. In this connection the suspension is adjusted rapidly and automatically from "comfortable" to "sporty", and a comfortable vehicle becomes a dynamical sports car. With the ISC technology Abt combines attributes which have been conflictive so far. The new suspensions are "hard" and "soft" - depending on the respective requirements. ISC guarantees ultimate road holding, optimal handling and improves the traction. Hence, the car is easier to control which means that the Abt suspension ensures greater safety. The comfort factor is even maintained when you decide for tyres with a small semi-slick profile.
Sporty looks can be taken for granted as Abt Sportsline lowers the car by as much as 40 millimetres which improves the road holding as well. Abt suspensions are adjusted to slight understeer not only for front wheel drive cars but also for 4-wheel drive models so that the car is also perfectly controllable in borderline situations.
